Academy Messages
Thank you to all the parents who have attended parent consultation meetings this week.
Heathfields and Wilnecote schools are working on improving the playtime experience for children. This is a significant project for us to undertake. Over the next 24 months, you will see a range of new experiences and activities being provided for the children. The PTFA will support the schools financially to resource some of the items. If you would like to support the PTFA, please inform the school office who can share your contact details with the PTFA group or attend one of the meetings. These are on the website calendar.
At the moment, we are in the early stages of our journey but want to keep you involved in our project. Keep reading the newsletter and weekly updates for more information.
The children will all receive the Smartie half-term challenge details from the PTFA this week. Please visit the Heathfields Infant and Wilnecote Junior PTFA Facebook page for more details.
How can you help?
In the meantime, to get our journey started we need your help. If you are having a clear out and are in a position to donate, we are looking for the following items:
• Unwanted dress up outfits - jackets, trousers or skirts with elasticated waists, dresses,- anything that can be worn over the children’s school uniform;
• Bubbles, plastic buckets and spades, bowls and plates etc.
• Items for a mud kitchen i.e., pots, pans, large utensils
• Trowels, racks, buckets – no forks please
• Soft suitcases, handbags, prams and pushchairs
• Small world toys and cars etc.
• Den building - cans, pallets, crates, guttering, plastic sheets, tarpaulin
• CD player
If you work in a trade, and/or have access to larger items such as tyres, crates, pallets, rubber or plastic pipes, hoses, cable drums etc., then please get in touch with the office, and we will get back to you.
We would like to thank the families who have already donated toys that the children no longer play with at home. The infant children really enjoyed having these items at lunchtimes.
Staff updates.
We will sadly be saying farewell to Miss Murdock next month. She is a Teaching Assistant in Reception and covers classes at Heathfields.
We welcomed Miss Hannah to the Heathfields team in the Early Years as a Teaching Assistant.
Heathfields Infant Admissions Policy
The consultation period for the admissions criteria at Heathfields has now closed. One response was received and considered as part of the consultation. It has been agreed to reduce the pupil admission number to 60 for the 2026-2027 academic year. The policy has been published on the school website under academy policies.
